Happy Birthday Derrick!
Derrick is a great kid (also my brother) that lives in my basement. He has lived with us since I decided it was time to move out of my parents house (finally, after 25 years) and move into our present beloved home. It was never really discussed if Derrick would move in with us, it was just kind of understood. Nate and I joke that he is our semi-kid (he is handling the addition of Alice very well).

So, to celebrate Derrick's birthday, here are some fun facts about D-dog:

• He has never been called D-dog before. I hope he likes it, 'cause its got a ring to it and it might stick.
• "Duck" is Derrick's official nick-name.
  
• Derrick has killed numerous ducks with his car, for which he feels terrible about.
• Derrick likes to work-out.
• Derrick loves to listen to Barry Manilow up to volume 11, not 10 (note the Christmas debacle of 1998).
• Derrick's favorite T.V. show is "Flip This House."
  
• Derrick is 22.
• I had my 6-yr birthday party in the hospital because Derrick was born. I got a monkey that had a long tongue that stuck out and squeaked when it was squeezed. I miss squeaker. I think Jon ate him.
  
• One day Derrick will be a millionaire.
• Derrick LOVES to do people's wedding videos ( I am still waiting for mine).
  
• Derrick went through the BEST awkward stage as a child where he looked like the kid from the movie Problem Child.
  
• I could go on forever, but I guess I also need to work.
