My Eternity

To see the world in a Grain of Sand,
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand,
and eternity in an hour.
-William Blake

I cradle her in my arms for our nightly ritual,
sing her to sleep until her breathing slows and her body softens.
Yet I always linger, hoping to make this moment last for eternity.
I try and Hold Infinity in the palm of my hand.

Full of wonder and delight, her every word is magic to me.
I cuddle her close and tell of my devotion.
Her curiosity is contagious, her energy an infection.
She see's the world in a Grain of Sand.

He opens the world to me in ways I never know I need.
His constant love and encouragement are my water and air.
With him, I see a Heaven in a Wild Flower,
And hold eternity in an hour.
