I rock them to sleep with spoken lullabies of love. Love that never fails and endures through time.
The love of their mother who prays to be enough.
The love of Grandparents in heaven who are always near.
And the greatest Love of all. The Love that heals broken hearts and dreams. The Love that soothes fears and promises a life complete. The Love that brings light to the dark and joy to the sad.
Their lullaby is a story of children loved so deeply on both sides of the veil.
I always weigh the opportunity costs before naps for this very reason. I check to make sure all bathroom doors are closed and certain kitchen cabinets are secure. Darn their smarts because they're able to find some sort of trouble, aren't they?! Love it, love it. And it WAS worth a few winks in the long run, right? Heck yes!
