Mom, I made two wishes on a star that came true. One was that you would have a baby in your tummy, and the other one was that I wouldn't be afraid of the dark.
Mom, I think that even though I am 4, that I am smart and kind enough to be ready for Kindergarten. Why do they call it Kindergarten? Is it a garden?
Mom, who were your Mommy and Daddy? (We look at pictures of my parents who passed). I remember them, but I can't remember their voices anymore. Are you sad and lonely that they are gone? Is that why you live so close to your sisters?
Mom, why did they put a nail in Jesus's hands and feet? Why didn't they just use the rope to tie him, like what they did with the robbers? Why were they so mean to Jesus?
Mom, we are going to be SO tired tomorrow for staying up so late talking.
(This morning...) Dad, I am SO tired. Mom and I stayed up SO late talking last night.
(I LOVE you my little one. I hope we stay up late talking a million more times.)

That is seriously so precious. I know that your mommy and daddy enjoyed it, too!
I find out the best things talking late at night with Maura. She tells me things she doesn't slow down enough to tell me during the day. It started when she was about 4 and I thought it would end, but she is almost 9 and begs me to lay and talk with her. Granted, sometimes the questions get tricky and awkward now, but at least she is asking me and not her friends who always give her the wrong answer to those awkward but important questions :)
Seriously what a sweetheart !
