I rock them to sleep with spoken lullabies of love. Love that never fails and endures through time. The love of their mother who prays to be enough. The love of Grandparents in heaven who are always near. And the greatest Love of all. The Love that heals broken hearts and dreams. The Love that soothes fears and promises a life complete. The Love that brings light to the dark and joy to the sad. Their lullaby is a story of children loved so deeply on both sides of the veil.

Scarlet's 4 Year Birthday Letter
My little love.
As my father was sick and dying, I would often sit and rub his feet. We would chat about life, and how blessed I was. One of these times, we were watching you look intently at a book, your eyes full of magic. My dad stopped and said, "she is really something special". It brought tears to my eyes as it was a common phrase I heard from my dad about me. To hear him say that same thing about you made me happy despite the circumstances.
You see, my sweet child, you are loved beyond words on BOTH sides of the veil. Please remember that when this earth life seems to rough and hard. You are not of this world, but you are something special made from the eternities. You lived before here and you'll live long after you leave. This time is so finite and I know your sensitive heart will long to be in the warm embrace of heaven. But, to live is important here on earth. You're learning things here you won't learn anywhere else.
To paraphrase C.S. Lewis, you are a spiritual being having an earthly experience. While you're here, drink it up, experience everything, make the right choices, pass the test, and you'll be happy forEVER. You see, my sweet child, you are loved beyond words on BOTH sides of the veil.
Love forever,
Mom and Grandpa Raynes
